Your Food Is Killing You

Our bodies depend on food for fuel and all the building blocks our bodies need to rebuild and repair itself each day as well as when under assault by infection or injury.  Sadly, there are so many ways our food provides less than we need and too much of what we don’t need that it’s a wonder we’re not all sicker than we are.

Here’s a sampling:

  1. Pollutants (herbicides, pesticides, environmental pollution)
  2. Depleted nutrition due to depleted soils
  3. Contaminants due to  poor FDA and USDA oversight
  4. Loss of valuable nutrients due to food processing to extend shelf life (e.g., lifeless white flour and sugar)
  5. Addition of harmful substances during food processing — e.g., MSG, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), and many more. Note: See Resource page on HFCS.
  6. Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs, aka: Frankenfoods). See the Resource page on GMOs which should also be considered part of this discussion.
